About

It’s a little intimidating, don’t you think? Describing yourself to people you may or may not even know. Let’s start with this.

I’m a Mormon.

A simple phrase, it’s true, but it implies so much: I am honest, I am true, I am chaste, I am benevolent, and I do good to all men, I believe in Christ, he is my king, I strive to be like him, etc.

I am in NO WAY perfect. Not even close. But I do my very best to represent the Savior in all that I do. Sure, I make mistakes, just like everybody else. I love this quote by Elder Jeffery R. Holland: “Except in the case of his only perfect Begotten Son, imperfect people are all God has ever had to work with.” We need to not beat ourselves up and realize that IT IS OKAY to make mistakes, as long as we try to learn from them and become more like the Savior. We are not perfect. We all have something we could improve on. But don’t let that discourage you. We are not expected to be perfect. However, we are expected to choose the right and to try to improve ourselves each and everyday. As we do this, we will become more and more like the ultimate example of perfection, Jesus Christ.

I created this blog as an opportunity to share my beliefs and testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and what it is like being a Mormon.

It is not easy to be a Mormon, a.k.a. Latter-Day Saint, in today’s world. The standards of the world are moving farther and farther apart from those of the Almighty God, our Heavenly Father. I recently saw this quote that I feel applies perfectly: “If it wasn’t hard, then everyone would do it. It is the hard that makes it great.” Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is definitely great. It blesses my life immensely. I am so grateful for the gospel and this church in my life and am excited to share that with you through this blog!
